TTC has been teaching real-world skills to students and faculty in University Trading Rooms for 10 years using a range of structured educational programmes that are based on real-world activities in financial markets.

TRAINING ACADEMICS TO USE FINANCIAL PLATFORMS

In all of our University courses linked to Capital Markets for example, the objective is to bring the students’ skills up to a level whereby they can seamlessly move into the industry and work directly on securities desks, in the middle office, back-office, on risk management and in a wide variety of Capital Markets work tasks.

The objective of our University Programmes is to provide an industry-strength education in finance and financial markets using various financial software including Bloomberg as a central component, to integrate case studies that are current and relevant to finance and economics, and to provide expert advanced knowledge of using financial software platforms, their functions and data analysis methods. The field of finance is changing constantly with the advent of new data analysis products, technologies and working practices so it is important that students are well-informed and able to understand these new advances and able to carry these skills into the workplace.

TTC has been teaching Bloomberg, for example, to academics, PhD’s, graduates and undergraduate students for over 10 years and has integrated real-world finance and data analysis into classroom curriculum for several academic and corporate institutions. Our TTC Bloomberg programme utilize this expertise to provide a cutting-edge education for students.

Bloomberg is a real-time market software platform used by market professionals. Students want to know how the professionals use Bloomberg and we can provide this knowledge through various Bloomberg functions. Equity, Bond, Currency and Commodity markets are constantly evolving on a real-time basis and we are able to demonstrate how to capture this data and manipulate it in a real-world setting in the classroom.

MANAGED SERVICES AND DATA RESOURCES SUPPORT

Enhancing Student use of Data and Financial Platforms

With respect to the increasing flood of financial data, the science of handling, interpreting and visualising data effectively is one of the key skills underpinning many of today’s work roles. However, there is a well-known trade-off between a pure data scientist holding methodical expertise on one side and domain experts on the other side. That is, knowing about the inherent value and information the data may contain.

Through the use of financial platforms and data analysis facilities, students gain an insight into the different types of financial data as well as starting to think like data scientists. This provides students with tools and skills that enable them to go deeper into the field of financial data science and to better cooperate with data-driven departments in their later work roles.

ENHANCING UNIVERSITY FINANCE AND INVESTMENT CURRICULUM

Many University Trading labs now resemble industrial-strength trading rooms that have specific industry software Platforms and provide students with access to the same working practices that professionals use.

This is a huge advantage for students, faculty and PhD’s who have access to these rooms as long as they are shown how to use the Platforms properly and are introduced to the right skills that assist their research and echo the skills the professionals are using. We have designed trading room teaching curriculum for Universities that optimise their use of industry Platforms and these provide a valuable and enjoyable working experience for students and faculty.

We also provide specialist education and training in using industry platforms including Bloomberg. On a larger extent, we run 3-semester taught programmes in trading, analytics, risk management, portfolio management, data science and Fintech to graduate and undergraduates. These are currently University certified, but unaccredited, embedded programmes in University MSc and BSc programmes in Finance, Management, Accounting, Market Analytics and other core disciplines. We also support faculty with skills and knowledge that they can translate into their classes and research. This includes data extraction techniques, data analysis and case studies for use in the classes.
